Virat & BCCI asked me to apply for the Indian Head Coach Post – Virender Sehwag

Friday 16th Sep. 2017:

Recently in the run of Indian head coach selection, Ravi Sastri who is previously appointed as team director has made his turn to become the Indian head coach until 2019 world cup final. Though Many big names like Virender Sehwag and Tom Moody also applied for this post, Sastri’s comfortable rapport with Virat Made him be the Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team.

However, on Friday Indian former opener Virender Sehwag claimed that he was convinced by BCCI and Virat Kohli to apply for the Head Coach, while interviewed by a news channel. He also said that he has no interest in Head Coach position, it’s BCCI who has forced him to apply for this post.

I never thought of coaching the Indian cricket team. I have an offer from BCCI. The BCCI secretary Amitabh Chaudhary requested me to think for this post and I take my own time and applied-Sehwag said to a news channel.

“He also claim that – I missed out of India’s Head Coach due to lack of Setting with selectors.”

Sehwag also pointed out that after the offer from BCCI, he had some talks with Virat Kohli and he also suggests me to go for this. Then after I applied for he post.

If I knew Ravi Satri is also applying for this post, I would never applied for it. I asked Ravi whether he is applying for the post during the champions trophy, but he said he will not apply for this post again due to  the cold war between Ravi and Sourav Ganguly before.

Sehwag finally concluded that he will not apply for the post of Indian Team Head Coach in future. See the interview of Virender Sehwag below:
