India Grab the No1 Spot in ICC ODI Ranking after defeating Australia in 2nd ODI at Kolkata

After successfully thrashing Australia in 2nd ODI by 50 runs, India now leading the series by 2-0. it is a very good news for Indian fans that after getting two successive wins India moves to the NO 1 ODI  spot.

In previously declared ICC ranking India is placed in 2nd position with 118 points. While as South Africa leading the table with a point of 119. But getting over Australia and defeating them in 2 ODI match Boosted India to the no 1 position.

 This is due to today’s match played at Kolkata. India chooses to bat first and puts a decent target of 253 runs. From India’s batting side except for Kohli and Rahane no others able to have an eye-catching run. Kohil who missed his century by just 8 runs has a 102 run partnership stand with Rahane. As Rahane failed in 1st ODI showing his form in the 2nd ODI score a half-century. While as the Pre-match hero Dhoni and Pandya unable to maintain their form in 2nd ODI. In last 10 over Australian bowlers have their effect completely as 45 runs come from it with lose of 4 wickets.

Then in reply, Indian bowlers also did their job in a structural way. Bhubaneswar taking 3 wickets in his total 7 over spell by giving away just 9 runs. But the match seems to be contested one as Australian captain Smith and Stoinis both got their half-century. Kuldeep Jadav taking his 1st ever ODI hattrick make it easy for India to win the match with 50 runs.

India is on the top of the list in test ranking with a point of 125, 15 points ahead of 2nd placed South Africa. And now getting to the 1st place of ODI by letting down the same team South Africa to 2nd place.
