Gautam Gambhir Steps Down from Captaincy

The level of a player is not noticed by whether he is captain of the team or a senior member of the team. Its only noticed by the true sportsmanship. On recent selection of Delhi team for Ranji trophy, the veteran Gautam Gambhir steps down from the captaincy post. Not due to any pressure or any issue, as he stated that he wants to play as a simple player in the team. This is the real sportsmanship.

Confirming this a member of DDCA says that,” Yes, Gambhir has written a letter to the DDCA administrator Vikramajit Sen. Making it clear that the time is for some other to lead the team as he wants to play as a player”.

Gambhir from the last four years playing the role of a captain for Delhi team, but now suddenly leaving the captaincy cap and participate as a player in this session amazed the hole media. It creates a confusion as in the Vijay Hazare trophy Gambhir was removed from the captaincy cap and young gun Rishabh Pant has taken the responsibility.

But unfortunately, Delhi has a sad ending as the exit from the group league match. Then after the match, there is some exchange of words between Gambhir and Coach Bhaskar. Which leads to a staff meeting in which Gambhir was banned for next 4 matches.

But clearly clarifying that there is no interconnection, in that case, he says that he wants to be part of the game only as a player. Replacing him the pacer Ishant Sharma will now take the responsibility. As he has 77 test match in his name and bit experience in all formats.

So final team list of Delhi for Ranji Trophy is,
